For those who emulate the chilled-out, weed-smoking, bowling pin-striking Dude from “The Big Lebowski,” the abode of Jeff Bridges’ iconic character is now available for purchase, meaning you can turn the shoreside property into your own place to soak in a tub.
The Venice Beach bungalow—which is part of a 6-unit compound that is for sale as a whole— hit the market this week, and an open house was held today by Bulldog Realtors. Though the realtor asked Jeff Bridges to make an appearance for the event, according to LA Weekly, it’s unknown whether he actually showed up.
The Dude’s cottage has been renovated since the 1998 movie was filmed, so hopefully the smell of urine-covered carpet won’t deter potential buyers.
In all, buying the property will get you more than 10,000 sq. ft. of space, a short walk to the beach and the lively social scene at Abbot Kinney, a garage, and a peaceful (private) courtyard for relaxing in at the end of the day.
Besides the renovations, the only other un-Dudelike aspect of the bungalow compound is that it costs $2.3 million. Even Bunny Lebowski’s ransom wouldn’t cover that price.
